Arlington, Texas, is a city in the United States located in Tarrant County. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and has a population of almost 400,000. Arlington is known for its sports teams, including the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers, and for its large amusement park, Six Flags Over Texas. The city is also home to the University of Texas at Arlington.
Arlington was founded in 1876 and was originally named after General Robert E. Lee’s Arlington House. The city grew rapidly after the construction of Interstate Highway 20 in the 1960s and became one of the largest cities in the region.
