Chula Vista is a city in San Diego County, California. It is the second largest city in the San Diego metropolitan area after San Diego. Chula Vista is so named because of its location on the banks of the Sweetwater River Valley and the presence of sweetwater springs and lush vegetation in the area.
The city has a population of over 275,000 and is known for its beautiful beaches and parks, as well as its diverse array of attractions. These include the Aquatica San Diego water park, the Living Coast Discovery Center, the Mattress Firm Amphitheatre, and the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center.
